Casement Aerodrome is based in Baldonnel Co. Dublin and is home to The Irish Air Corps, the air component of our Defence Forces. 850 men and women serve at the base and each have a unique role.
I thought it would be interesting to do a series of paintings showing the activities and duties of Ireland’s only military airfield. It provides a fascinating subject for artistic work and I hope to reflect the diversity of occupations and activities on the base as a visitor.This is an ongoing project so fly (sorry!) back soon to see more paintings! |
